New Jersey ranks 50th on the list due to its significant corporate and individual tax rates. Of course this policy will tend to scare away business investment, jobs and economic development. On the other hand, a state that has received a lot of positive publicity of late because of its job-creating success is Texas- the state ranks 9th in this study.
